Bringing the outdoors in
When it comes to enhancing your home or business, the right windows can make all the difference. With a wide range of styles available, you can find the perfect fit to achieve your vision.
Sliding Windows
Sliding windows are practical and easy to operate, making them a popular option for many homes or businesses. Sliding windows feature one or more sashes that slide horizontally along a track allowing for easy opening and closing. They are ideal for areas with limited space such as kitchens, bathrooms and laundries, as well as living rooms and bedrooms. Sliding windows are available in different configurations enabling maximum airflow, light and ventilation.
Louvre Windows
Louvre windows are designed specifically with airflow in mind. Their adjustable blades allow the control of both airflow and privacy while encouraging constant ventilation. They are ideal for virtually any room in your home or business.
Bifold Windows
Bifold windows are versatile, space saving windows that fold back to open up your home, café, restaurant or office, offering enhanced natural light, ventilation, airflow and unobstructed views. They are also known as servery windows and consist of multiple panels that fold back on themselves creating a totally uninterrupted view once opened. Bifold windows are also ideal for entertainment areas as well as observatories. They are all custom made to suit the size, number of sashes, folding direction and colour to fit your premise. Even when shut, you can still enjoy a spectacular view.
Awning Windows
Awning windows are hinged at the top and swing out from the bottom. They allow good ventilation and light and are suitable for many styles of homes and ideally, office premises.
Gas Strut Windows
Gas strut windows are an ideal design for the kitchen, servery or alfresco areas of a home or business. They allow the outside in and are a great way of providing unobstructed views, enhanced indoor-outdoor connectivity and open upwards with the help of gas struts to lift the sash to an almost near horizontal position. They provide both style and practicality to any home or business premise.
Casement Windows
Casement windows, whilst not as common in the modern-day homes, they are still a feature in many Queenslander Homes and are another means of airflow and ventilation. They open outward like a door either to the left or right. There are several types of casement windows ranging from single, double, French, to push out, outswing or crank out.
Double Hung Windows
Double-hung windows are a popular type of window found in many homes due to their practicality and aesthetic appeal. Unlike single hung windows, which have one operable sash, double-hung windows feature two operable sashes - both the top and bottom sections can be moved. Double-Hung windows have two panes of glass (sashes) which slide vertically within offset guides in the frame and utilise a spring and brake system which keeps each sash in the position that they are moved to. Their classic design easily complements both traditional and contemporary home styles.
Raked Windows
This type of window is predominantly fixed panels which do not open and are more for a feature in the home or business premise. They are angled or triangular windows designed to follow the slope of a roof or fit into a gable end to enhance the architectural appeal whilst enhancing natural light, space perception and create a striking visual feature whilst maintaining energy efficiency and comfort.
The Importance of Airflow & Cross Ventilation
The type of windows you choose has a significant impact on how air moves through your space and can improve natural ventilation throughout.
One of the biggest factors in a home or business for airflow is cross ventilation. This happens when fresh air enters through one opening and exits through another, creating a natural breeze throughout.
To maximise cross ventilation:
Open windows on opposite sides of the premise where possible
Allow clear pathways for air to travel through rooms
Consider window placement in relation to prevailing breezes
Even a small change in window configuration can make a noticeable difference to comfort levels indoors.

Whether you are renovating, upgrading or building a new home or business, choosing the right window style can make a significant difference to the comfort and liveability of your premise.
